Where is your wool sourced from?Updated 5 months ago

We use 3 main wool types here at TBCo, Recylcled, Cashmere and Lambswool.

Our recycled wool is sourced from pre-loved clothing, mainly from the UK. The clothing fibres are broken down by hand and spun with recycled polyester fibres in order to make strong, durable yarn. This is then dyed (if needed) and woven into our lovely blankets. We work with a partner in India who employs the majority of his local community to manage each step of the process. We visit as often as we can and it is amazing to see the process from start to finish.

Our lambswool and cashmere is now all sourced, dyed and woven in Inner Mongolia. We work with a partner over there who has a family farm and uses his own and neighbouring farms' wool, to produce all of our blankets and scarves.

We have learned that the farming practices in Inner Mongolia are much more traditional and people-operated compared to other areas and they don't use harmful practices such as mulesing.

It is also important to us to ensure that the mills we partner with operate fair and ethical work practices. We make sure all of the necessary measures and certifications are in place for operating the factories successfully.
